The man this story is about would never appear
There is a large piece of tie-dye fabric (also known as batik) hanging in my studio, I made it to use a photograph once.
Attached to the fabric or 4 pieces of paper- one starts with the sentence "the man this story is about would never appear", taken from Duras, Malady of Death, next to that is an image of a 'Dutch house', its modern and in the middle of nowhere, it has the subtitle 'No music.'. Next to that is the sentence "If I ever filmed this text", and next to that is the image of letter we sent to David.
I'm trying to imagine making a video- it feels quite clear already in many ways. I want to use the footage you shot of the neighbours building and them make footage of the housing development I saw being built on the outskirts of Tilburg. I will write a script and I think this beginning from the Duras text is very good. I like the idea of imagining a visitor to our exhbition who will never come.
